Privacy Policy

This policy explains how 1000485580 Ontario Inc., operating as Forest City Eavestrough (“we”, “us”), collects, uses and shares personal information through fceavestrough.com (the “Site”), and the choices you have. We follow Canada’s privacy law for businesses, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and any provincial privacy law that applies to us.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you fill out a form, call, text or email us, we collect what you send: usually your name, phone number, email address, the address of the property, and details about the work you need.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and the services we use collect information about your device and visit: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, the page or search that brought you here, and the date and time. If you arrived from an ad or a tracked link, we also record the campaign details in that link (such as UTM tags or a click ID) and keep them with any form you send.

This is collected with:

• Cookies and similar storage, small files or entries saved in your browser. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the Site still works without them, but we lose the ability to tell which ad or search brought you here.
• Server logs, kept by our hosting provider, which record requests to the Site.
• Tags and pixels, small pieces of code from analytics and advertising services, described below.

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of majority in their province.

How we use it

• To respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote, schedule and carry out work, and follow up about it.
• To contact you by phone, text message or email about your enquiry or project.
• To filter spam and protect the Site and our systems from misuse.
• To understand how the Site is used and which advertising brings us enquiries, so we can improve both.
• To send you promotional messages, only if you have agreed to receive them. You can stop them at any time.
• To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

Consent

By sending us a form, or contacting us, you consent to us using your information to respond to you and handle your request as described here. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us, subject to legal or contractual limits. If you withdraw it, we may not be able to provide a quote or service.

Text messages. How we text you, and how to stop, is set out under “When you submit a form” below.

Email. Promotional emails include a way to unsubscribe. Messages about a quote or job you asked for are not promotional.

When you submit a form

Every form on the Site carries this line:

By providing your information, you agree to our Privacy Policy & Terms of Service and to be contacted by phone, text and email about your request. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.

Here is what that agreement covers:

• Who contacts you: Forest City Eavestrough, from our business phone number and email.
• What about: the request you sent. That means answering your questions, preparing a quote, booking a visit, confirming appointments, and following up if we have not reached you.
• How often: it depends on your request, and usually ends once your request or project is finished.
• Costs: your carrier’s message and data rates may apply. We do not charge for messages.
• How to stop: reply STOP to any text. To stop calls or emails, or for help, contact us using the details at the end of this policy. Stopping does not cancel any work already agreed.
• It is not a sign-up for promotions. We send promotional messages only if you separately agree to receive them.
• It is not a condition of doing business with us. If you would rather not be texted, tell us and we will use phone or email instead.

Who we share it with

We use service providers to run the Site and our business. They handle your information on our behalf and only for these purposes:

• Netlify, which hosts the Site and stores form submissions. Form submissions are checked for spam by Akismet.
• HighLevel, the customer relationship system where we keep enquiries and send texts and emails.
• Google (Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager), to measure how the Site is used. You can opt out at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. How Google uses information: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
• Meta (the Meta pixel), to measure and target our Facebook and Instagram advertising. You can manage ad preferences at https://www.facebook.com/adpreferences.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to respond to a lawful request such as a court order, to protect our rights or safety, or as part of selling or reorganizing our business.

Information stored outside Canada. Some of these providers store or process information in the United States or other countries. While it is there, it may be accessed by courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of those countries under their laws.

Interest-based advertising

We may use information about your visits to show you ads for our services on other sites and apps. To opt out of interest-based ads from participating companies in Canada, visit the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada at https://youradchoices.ca. The Site does not change its behaviour when a browser sends a Do Not Track signal.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and customer information for two years after our last contact with you, or longer where the law requires it (for example, tax records) or where it relates to work we performed and any warranty on it. After that we delete it or remove anything that identifies you. Analytics and advertising services keep data according to their own settings and policies.

How we protect it

We use reasonable safeguards for the sensitivity of the information: access limited to people who need it, accounts protected with strong passwords and two-step sign-in where available, and encrypted connections (HTTPS) on the Site. No method of sending or storing information is completely secure.

Your rights

You can ask us:

• what personal information we hold about you, and how we have used and shared it;
• to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
• to delete your information, or stop contacting you, where we are not required to keep it.

Send your request to the contact below. We will answer within 30 days and may need to confirm your identity first.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (https://www.priv.gc.ca) or to your provincial privacy commissioner.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to our practices or the law. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change is significant, we will say so on the Site.
